Working Man originally written and performed by the legendary Rock group RUSH and is one of the tracks from Cyril Neville’s CD “MAGIC HONEY.” MAGIC HONEY was produced by David Z ( Etta James, Prince) and features Royal Southern Brotherhood’s Mike Zito and New Orleans legend Cranston Clements on guitar, Carl Dufrene on bass. It is no other then Willie Green of the Neville Brother’s who is playing drums on the entire CD. It was great to have that legendary percussion team of Willie Green and Cyril back together again.

Cyril Neville joins galactic for a run of great Shows

cyril1Cyril Neville will take up vocal duties with Galactic when the New Orleans rockers co-headline three shows with jazz-funk trio Soulive next year.

The bands will get started at The Fillmore in Denver on February 20 before hitting The Electric Factory in Philadelphia on March 24 and the House of Blues in Boston on March 25. The Bright Light Social Hour will also be on hand to open the night for the Philadelphia and Boston gigs.

Neville has collaborated with Galactic on a number of occasions over the years, including a notable stint as the group’s touring vocalists in 2010. The singer and percussionist has joined them in studio a few times as well–most recently on “Out on the Street” from 2012’s Carnivale Electricos.

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Armstrong’s first professional gig, there was a special performance by Neville’s band, Royal Southern Brotherhood

Royal Southern Brotherhood in AMERICAN AIRLINES INFLIGHT MAGAZINE

“Drumsticks have been signed and donated by Mos Def, Dr. John and other acclaimed percussionists. Most are painted by schoolchildren in New Orleans and Port-au-Prince, Haiti. With 37 pairs of painted drumsticks sold at $20 to $1,000 per pair in the first 18 months, generating $35,000 (including grant money) for student expenses and new classrooms in Haiti and kids’ arts programs in New Orleans, it’s safe to say the concept is a hit.”
